New Places!

Hi everyone!! I’m writing this on my 14 hour plane ride to Johannesburg South Africa, then from there we will travel to Eswatini!! This is the very last country of my race): but I know God has something so special planned for us here. I’m praying for a season of so much newness and growth. Here ministry will probably look something like children ministry, manual labor, or really whatever they need of us. We really don’t know until we arrive hehe, but that’s the fun of it. Anyway before I write about Guatemala and my experience there, I wanted to update y’all about where I am going to be, because I will most likely not have service for these next two months.
Okay Guatemala!!! Guatemala is a place of the brightest flowers blooming everywhere. A place where love is so tangible from everyone you meet. Whether it’s the little girl from English school, or the man you sit next to on the chicken bus. I fully believe Jesus is moving and calling Guatemala to be such a light to the world, and I’m honored to have called it home for two and a half months.
Ministry. So my teams ministry in Guatemala looked a little different each day. Monday Tuesday and Friday we worked at an English school!! Even more so than the teaching English part, we got to build relationships with the students and teachers. Lifelong friendships were built. Then on Wednesday we went into different villages and did house visits. At first this day I absolutely dreaded, because it was scary to me to come into someone’s home and try and start conversation, but God MOVED through this ministry. We ended up becoming super good friends with two families who lived right next to each other. We got to visit them, and talk with them, and pray/worship with them most of the Wednesdays. Saying bye to them felt like a little piece of my heart was staying. If I would’ve stayed in my comfort zone I never would’ve gotten to meet these amazing people. People who adopted us into there families. Jesus knows what he’s doing, so even if that thing he’s calling you to do seems uncomfy, His plan is so so good. He will never let you fall, so just do it!!!
Okay bye gotta go to Eswatini now(:

  1. Hey Libby! I just read your update from Fellowship and was excited to see what you’re doing to serve the Lord. Though we’ve never met, I’ll be praying for your remaining time on World Race and your transition home! I came home from WR about 10.5 years ago and we did missions in 2 of the same 3 countries you did. I went to the 3rd on a different mission trip. All are special places to me. Praying for you and I’m happy to listen if you ever want to download and process your WR experience!

  2. Praying for you and your team Lib! I love and miss you. Can hardly wait to have you home again. Love, Grandmama

  3. Guatemala! What a awesome, mysterious place. You’re making amazing memories and impacting so many people’s lives. Be safe and hang in there.

  5. I guarantee you. When you get back to the states you will never see the “foreigner” in the grocerie store the same way you did before your race.
Isn’t it freeing to be cured of our “American supremacy” heart posture?
Miss you precious daughter of the King.
